~Amy Bergman

 

Scott Swan

Scott Swan is a Human Resource professional with 9 years of industry experience, the past 6 of which have been with Advance Temporary Services.  As the Branch Manager at Advance Temporary Services Scott and his team develop and maintain strong partnerships with their clients and employees.  A challenge that he currently faces is a diminishing qualified workforce to draw from to match with his clients’ needs.  Those of you who know Scott and his quick sense of humor, would not be surprised to learn that he is an Adam Sandler fan.

 

Milissa Spadafora

Milissa is the Human Resources Director for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Michigan.  Goodwill is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment through training opportunities leading to successful employment.  One of Milissa’s recent successes at Goodwill is the completion of writing and publishing a HR Manual.  In addition to her 12 + years of HR experience, Milissa has found time to enjoy some of her favorite interests including traveling, karaoke, NASCAR, sewing and cooking.

Depression has enormous presence and impact in the workplace.  At any given time, one in 14 employees have diagnosable depression – not simply a case of the blues, but debilitating clinical depression – and the disease can be recurrent.  The words “depression” and “suicide” can be hard to hear and even more difficult to discuss.  However, turning away from either topic means missing opportunities to reduce ever-increasing healthcare costs, decrease absenteeism and presenteeism, and improve productivity.

HRASM to collect clothing for The Kids Closet at upcoming meetings

The Kids Closet is a local charity that is run through the Hudson School System.  They collect clothes for children in need.  We will be collecting clothing for children through the age of 18.  The Kids Closet requests that clothing be either new or gently used.  Please bring these items to any monthly membership meeting.  We will drop the items off when they are collected.
